Writing a first message about a shared interest
Start a conversation that another person can comfortably choose to join.
Use a detail from the profile
Refer to something the person has chosen to share and ask one open question. A short introduction gives context without overwhelming them. Avoid copied propositions, demands for pictures or claims that matching interests mean you already know what they want.
Check the tone before going further
Keep the opening non-graphic. Before discussing private preferences, ask whether the topic is welcome and accept the answer. Do not send intimate images without permission or move the conversation toward personal details just because someone replied warmly.
Leave room for no reply
A message is an invitation, not a claim on somebody’s attention. Avoid repeated nudges, insults or attempts to bargain for a response. If the conversation develops, take turns sharing and asking; if it does not, move on without treating silence as something to overcome.
